Weekly Blog Assignment

The blog assignment is central to the course, as you will be following the progress we make on the poetry and planning out your own Hypertext Assignment for the final class in the WWI Unit.

After each Thursday, you will compose a blog comment on the poems for the next week on Tuesday. You are only required to comment on one of the poems, but there is no limit to how many blog comments you can make. Whenever possible, engage your fellow students and their comments, elaborating, enhancing, or countering their own thoughts and ideas about the poem. Remember to make use of the Resources offered.

Your comments should be:

• Clearly written
• Relevant to the poem
• An attempt to think critically on the material

Where possible, connect a hyperlink to an external source. These sources can be videos, historical texts, images, or audio. You are encouraged to be creative with the sources you hyperlink - if the mood falls, linking to a scene from Blackadder Goes Forth is encouraged, so long as it adds to the poem you are commenting on.

Remember that your research done while completing your weekly blog assignment is intended to help you build a toolbox of resources for your final assignment, so think closely on what manner of materials you would need to look for.
